ThermoNukePanda
http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/freddy-got-fingered/man-busted-for-vhs-tape-243510 James Myers from North Carolina, 37 years old, was pulled over while driving his daughter to school for having a broken tail light. Upon checking the man's license and registration, the office returned results with a warrant that had been issued for Mr. Myers' arrest dating back to 2002. The crime? Myers had rented a VHS copy of the movie Freddy Got Fingered, a terrible comedy movie starring Tom Green, and had failed to return it to J&J Video store which has since been closed for years. No joke, dude got arrested for misdemeanor Failure to Return Hired Property! Over a fucking Tom Green movie! TWELVE YEARS LATER lmao. Wow... PeeKnuckle
What I've learned: Never go to any of the Carolinas. http://loweringthebar.net/2014/02/woman-arrested-rented-video.html The sheriff’s position appears to be that he had to arrest her, given the outstanding warrant and that (according to the report) warrants don’t expire. That may be true, but what about the statute of limitations? Surely it bars prosecution of something like this after nine years. Well, it would. But South Carolina doesn’t have one. I'm guessing the same was true for the guy in OP. Fuck that.
