Call of Duty: Black Ops Given 'Best Game Ending' Honors By Guinness

Guinness, the standard-bearer for world records, has declared that the 2010 Call of Duty release from Treyarch, Black Ops, ranks at number one on the Top 50 Video Game Endings of All Time list. So that happened. Science wasn't used to determine the winner; instead, the game won in a poll that "13,519 fans of gaming" participated in. Moral of the story? More of you should get out and vote next time.

Sure Black Ops might of had a nice story, but to vote it #1 ending of all times?

And Halo:Reach voted #2?

The story in Reach was garbage and shouldn't even be in the top 100.. let alone top 3

Yeah it was ok story but nowhere near the best. Sounds more like name recognition to me.

This exactly. Did anyone else catch that Super Mario Brothers was listed as 11th? For best ending in a game? There was a proper ending? LOL. I'm sorry but "Thank you mario." isn't exactly amazing writing.

They sampled 13,500 supposed gamers, but there's no telling how many of those were just casual gamers that only play mobile games and such, voting for games only because they've heard of them and not most of the others. You'd get a more accurate list from sampling votes from 100 video game reviewers, and even that would be heavily biased.

It's just a contest over which game was played the most.. obviously these are not the best video game endings by far... just the most endings people have seen.
