  1. Movie Night = Success!

By what means are you guys watching movies together? Is there finally something similar to Netflix groups? I miss that.
  2. So, I apologize, but I've been meaning to make a post for some time now, but always doing other stuff. There's a lot going on in my life. I need to check in here more often. But anyways, I guess I'll do this bullet point style. Probably the coolest thing, I graduated from my community college in the Spring, getting three degrees with distinction and am transferring to UC Berkeley. I move on Monday. I'm going as an English major with a possibility of switching to Rhetoric. I also want to take at least one acting class if I have time. I have a girlfriend I've been dating for nearly five and a half months now, the longest I've ever been with one (there were only one or two before, but still). We click amazingly well mentally, especially since she has aspergers like me. So, we understand all of each other's quirks. It's not a very physical relationship, even after all this time, but we're getting there. It's harder for people like us, and with her it's like dealing with a younger version of myself before I managed my symptoms and reactions as well as I do now. We'll be long distance while I'm at Berkeley, but we'll make it work. I'm still gaming, but it's sporadic. Most of this summer I've been doing all kinds of stuff to get ready for Berkeley. I did buy an awesome $1000 gaming laptop though, so I'll have access to all of my PC stuff while I'm there (when I have time, mostly nights). The Acer Helios 300. The thing has a GTX 1060 in it and can run GTA V pretty much maxed out at 1080p, I'm pretty happy with it lol. Oh, uh my hair is super long again. I immediately realized I need to update my profile picture when I logged in. Not much else changed. I still look 5-10 years younger than I should because of all of the blood of the inno---the good genes, yeah, we'll go with good genes. I got into a trading card game called Magic the Gathering and was playing weekly with a group of friends, though I won't be able to now that I'm moving. I may try to find players at Berkeley. There will be a card shop across the street, but I also am going to be tight on money lol. On that note, I have fantastic financial aid. I got what's called a Blue and Gold scholarship, so I'm basically fully covered on tuition and living (in a campus owned apartment, two blocks from campus, with a private bedroom and only two roommates). I am not throwing away my shot (and yeah I got super into the musical play Hamilton). Not sure what else to update, or what I shared before. I guess just ask if you have any other questions. Where is best to reach you guys on voice chat? Don't even remember what app to use. Teamspeak? Mumble? gd it's been a while.
  3. I'm still here.

Ah, Teamspeak, not Mumble. See, that's how long it's been lol, I couldn't think of the name of which chat program we were using lol. I'm on my way in now.
  4. I'm still here.

Hey. Sorry for disappearing again guys. At the moment I'm working 27 hours a week and taking 13 college units. I'm not even really gaming at the moment. Other than all that, not much has changed for me, but I figured I should check in. In the Spring I plan on taking another 13 units and after that I should be graduating with three degrees, (English Transfer AA, Liberal Arts AA, and Liberal Studies AA). I'm excited, but I'll still be busy. I also just got a PS4 Pro, so I plan to get a few of the good exclusives that are coming out. I'm still mainly a PC gamer, I think I mentioned I upgraded to the GTX 1080 graphics card before I disappeared. I haven't even played much on it yet lol. This winter will hopefully be a game break. I'll try to catch you guys on Mumble/chat. Oh, also another new hobby I've gotten into over the last few months is Magic the Gathering. I have my own collection and a group of friends that live in town to play with. It's a very logical card game with fun ways to combine what the cards do, I like it. Actually, if anyone really wants to keep up with me, Facebook is the best place. I always post there but forget to come here sometimes because it's been quiet. Sorry about that. Facebook.com/kevnvek
  5. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

I just ended up getting this as well. Looking forward to checking it out, as I know at the very least the story is great. I still have to finish Persona 4 Golden first though.
  6. Pokemon Go

But that's the thing, it's easier to focus on the negative news stories because they are more shocking. There are a lot of good stories coming out about it as well. I just read this article and it had everything I had to say about it and more. Things like people getting out and being motivated to exercise, overcoming depression, making friends, lots of good stuff. http://nerdist.com/pokemon-go-isnt-destroying-society-its-making-it-better/ Again, it comes down to people. Yes, some people are going to be idiots and use their phones and not pay attention or use it while driving. But it's not everyone. The incidents where an accident occurs are just the loudest ones you hear and see, even if they're statistically low when you consider so damn many people are using it (it's more popular than the twitter app at the moment).
  7. Pokemon Go

I dabble. For the most part I only pull it out when I've stopped somewhere in a parking lot or something. (uh, don't take that out of context XD.) I feel too weird too actually actively hunt (I'm wondering if I have some kind of agoraphobia, it just sounds really weird to me to have to walk around town lol), but I really like the idea behind it. So many people are bitching and complaining about how it's all they hear about and that kids and millennials "have time to chase Pokemon but not their dreams," (or job hunt) but it's actually getting them outside, walking and being active, getting healthier, socializing, exploring, it's a brilliant idea. It's not like it's worse than the handheld Pokemon games that you can just play alone in your room. And all of the news reports of people falling of cliffs, finding dead bodies, or otherwise getting hurt while playing it, that's just what's going to happen when such a large amount of people use, well, anything, and end up getting out more. Stuff happens. It's not the game's fault, it's user error, in the same way that phones themselves aren't to blame for kids these days keeping their eyes glued to them everywhere. That's a separate rant though.
  8. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

The Mechanical Apartheid trailer gave me goosebumps. The story in the game looks like it will be fantastic, I'm really looking forward to it.
  9. I check into the forums and that video is one of the first things I see haha. I see you're keeping things lively here, Ava. And I've had my speeds randomly bumped up once, unannounced. Was supposed to be like 30 down then started getting like 50-60. That was before we downgraded to like 20, even though it's still reading as 30 at speedtest. Don't remember all the exact numbers, but originally it went quite a bit over the estimate. Comcast is still super expensive though.
  10. What are you listening to?

Ensiferum just released a new album. Finnish folk metal, they're pretty cool.
  11. Annual giveaway winners list!

Congrats to all the winners, and thanks as always for hosting this, Siren, and Kira for making the list.
  12. What are you listening to?

This is a pretty cool version of the Dexter theme. https://soundcloud.com/milanrecords/daniel-licht-david-poe-lucky-from-dexter-8-ost
  13. Elder Scrolls Online Pre-Order Available

I feel the same way about it. I've only played it a bit and gotten to about level 3 or 4 and not even far enough to leave the island I was started on (after you get out of the initial location; being unspecific for the NDA). It just kind of feels like there's not a whole lot to do, and what there is, is too easy. The combat is incredibly easy. I'm used to playing TES games on at least hard to get the sense of the world actually being big and dangerous, and monster/bandit/dragon/etc. encounters actually being something to be wary of. I even did a quest to banish an ancient evil body possessing spirit and it didn't feel as epic as it should have, what with all the dialog. Just kill a few skeletons then activate a couple switches to kill the boss. I'll give it one more chance in a couple hours tonight while the beta is still live, but then I'm going to play some more Ni No Kuni.
  14. The main games have a pretty intricate and deep story, even with all of the weird little things that they throw in. Metal Gear Rising was a little different and more into the future of the series in terms of technology, and quite a different style of game from the usual. This DLC sounds stupid to me though. One of those useless "it was all just a dream" sort of things. There were weird things in the series, but never blatantly aliens and time travel.
  15. Black Friday Video Game Deals

If anyone gets Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn while it's half off, I'm making a character on the Gilgamesh server. I know, I know. I usually don't MMO. But I want to try this one since I love Final Fantasy and have heard good things. http://www.greenmangaming.com/search/?q=realm+reborn&platforms=pc
