I would like to make one more suggestion. Either this:

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130567

or this

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814261076

Both of those cards perform within just a few framerates of the 470, draw considerably less power, they don't get as hot which means quieter, AND they are roughly $60 cheaper

I'd opt for either one of those before the 470.

Compared the specs and seems to be a better buy. I added the EVGA card.

Also added the case since i didn't realize it wasn't on the public list.

One more thing... think the best time to buy this would be on the black friday sale that starts Wednesday, or on Cybermonday?

It's incredibly hard to say. Since you have a very targeted system you are looking to build it will just be luck that one or more of the items actually go on sale. It looks like you have a number of items on sale right now anyhow, and the evga card has a $10

rebate at the moment.

I'm looking into getting a new computer in the near future too. If you're happy with the final setup, I may consider "stealing" it. lol

I was also looking at this. It's a laptop, but for the price the specs seem pretty good. Most of the bad reviews are saying that the wireless card goes bad, but that shouldn't be too expensive to replace.

18" screen, 8GB RAM, 1.6Ghz i7 processor, 1GB Video RAM, and a BluRay player for $1250 seems pretty good for a laptop.

If I were to get it, it seems that I should just order this wireless card along side it for the inevitable failure of the wireless card it comes with, based on several reviews: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16833106061

Not bad for a laptop, but the rig Sky's building will blow it out of the water from a gaming perspective.

This WILL be bought within 25 to 45 hours.

If anyone would like to give some last minute suggestions/concerns please let me know.

Also, can someone DOUBLE CHECK for me if everything is compatible? I have had a few eyes look at it but I really want to make sure I don't miss something.

I would recommend replacing your 1tb drive with this one or something similar:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136767

Your motherboard supports SATA 6gbps so it's worth the extra 5 or 10 bucks to get a drive that is as well. Otherwise the build looks solid, and 6gb of ram will do you just fine. Don't forget to add an OS if you don't have one already.

Awesome, good luck building it and hope it turns out the way you like it.

Now I need to borrow our local technical assistance guy too (yes you, Dat :P).

I think I might have found the computer I want, a desktop from iBuyPower.com (don't know which, because apart from a few options they can all mostly turn out the same with customization), but there are some things I'm not sure about. Today I'll be going to some relatives' for Thanksgiving and not be back until later, so if you're on tonight or tomorrow, do you think we could get in chat, TeamViewer, or something?

The things I'm unsure of are things like:

What's the difference between the Data Hard Drive and Primary Hard Drive. There is a deal on a 30GB SSD, so I'll probably be getting that and a 1TB Hard drive and don't know which should go where.

The big RAM debate. I definitely want more than 4, but not all of them have 8 as an option, only 6. Though 6 is probably plenty, I want a beast that can run Crysis at high resolution maxed out, if possible.

Which is better between AMD Phenom II (looking at a six core) vs. Intel Core i7 (probably a quad core because the sixes are insanely expensive.) I hear that the AMD is better for rendering and such, while Intel is better for gaming.

How much power? I'm looking at the 800w Standard power supply to be sure it'll handle a good graphics card. There is a deal on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 - 2GB.

Meter Display / Fan Control worth it?\

I just don't want to miss out on a good deal on an epic computer, so I'd like some advice/help, please. :)

As of right now, these are the settings I got when messing around with it. A bit pricy at 1400, but uber powerful, and that's with a 22" moniter, wireless keyboard, speakers, and a wireless network adapter (USB) included. Tax and shipping will add another 200, but my dad is going to help me get it.

I'll be around tonight and tomorrow, but what you have there looks fairly solid. I would need to see the actual links so I could tell what exactly was going in. I'll also have to do a little research on phenom 6-core vs i7 quad core. And 6gb of ram will do just fine. Video card and cpu are what will the biggest difference in games.

6 core was tempting for me... but too expensive. lol

Definitely, but the AMD 6 cores, while not quite as good as the i7 6 cores, are a couple hundred dollars cheaper, and not that much lower, plus there's a deal on basically the top of the line AMD6 core processer with that unit I'm customizing. I did do a little research into it, and though I only skimmed to the summary of the freaking 20 page technical processor reviews, it sounds like the one I'm looking at will be plenty powerful.

As for the RAM, I suppose it will always be expandable if I buy more later.

Only thing I might remove is the wireless keyboard and get the crappy mouse and keyboard for $6, just so I can afford it and have some money left, then get one later, my brother's wireless keyboard was $80 (this one is $99), and is pretty efficient with the batteries.

So will you be on Steam or Ventrilo?

I can't find where to make an account at iBuyPower, so I don't know if I can save and link the build, which is why I was thinking maybe we could do TeamView. If I get this beast, it will be happening before midnight tomorrow. If I get it with the wireless keyboard and mouse, it will come with pretty much everything but a chair lol. I have a desk, and an ok chair already, though.

Aside from not knowing the specs on any of the motherboards, the only other thing I'm not too sure of is the power supply (which I know is very important so it doesn't burn out). The processor takes 125w minimum, the RAM's recommended voltage is 1.80, and the graphics card takes 600w minimum. Would an 800w power supply be enough, or should I go for a 1000w for another $55?

Also, is Meter Display (fan/temp control) worth it for another $26 (lower end) or $69 (higher end with individual fan controls)?

You don't need the Meter Display for anything. You shouldn't have enough fans that need individual control. For your specs an 800w psu should be fine.
