If you're dying to slay more Darkspawn and catch up with your party around a virtual campfire, then we're pleased to inform you that a new installment of Dragon Age is only eight months away. Along with opening preorders for Dragon Age II today, EA promised a trailer for August 17 and revealed plans to ship the new chapter on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next March. Additionally, the next issue of Game Informer magazine (208) will feature an exclusive 10-page cover story of the title.

Too soon. If they're going to release a good product that doesn't have all the bugs, glitches, and graphical flaws of Dragon Age, they'll need more development time for sure. I did really like Dragon Age, but there is so much that they need to fix in it that a sequel coming out barely more than a year later is just dumb, in my opinion.

Awakening was fun, but I'm not liking how many stand-alone DLCs that don't give you anything in the main game are coming out, either.

What did you expect Kevin? It's EA. We're talking about the turn over a new sports game yearly EA. That's the way they work. I'm sure it will come loaded with DLC that should have been included as well. Hopefully it's still a good game. The only bright side to it is that their DLC marketing is making enough continuous money to give the team a big budget. Plus, you have to figure they are already going to have the majority of textures, art, and the engine itself done. It should be all on the same game engine so maybe it will end up being good.
