This poor god damned woman. This is DISGUSTING. Leave without pay is bullshit, it's time for him to be let go. This slap on the wrist bullshit is enough. 

 

edit: Let it be said that I would have been on this guy's ass, regardless of any threats of being arrested. I've been in scuffles with drunk Marines before, allowing a woman to be treated like this is heinous. Shit, even a guy TBH.

The sheriff needs a good looking at, too. He tried to say the off duty officer was justified because she "resisted". Resisted that slob's advances, yes!

For some reason I read it as he saw the video and changed his tune or something, I was too busy being pissed when I read this. I agree wholeheartedly.

Disgusting. Placed on leave without pay.  She should certainly press charges against the guy.  The article had a good point though:

 

But what should be done when officers attack?  Capturing cell phone video is good for evidence, but at what point is it necessary and justified to physically intervene with an “assault and battery” in progress, assuming the assailant is an armed and dangerous government agent?
