PeeKnuckle
Just read this small op-ed.http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2012/03/28/the-power-of-young-adult-fiction/adults-should-read-adult-booksThe comments are pretty great. Check those out, too.
Avahra
So, first off. That article wasn't very interesting, he barely held my attention. He should talk to some "kid authors" on how to engage an audience. Then, he admits to never have ever read any of the books he's criticizing. And for the record, his book title sounds rather dull. I've read my fair share of "adult" and "teen" books and I find that the "teen" books usually engage my imagination, rather than the dull adult books. What an idiot. I hope someone throws a book at him.
Dateranoth
LOL. Idiot. Comments were great though. Loved this one:To summarize the article: "I haven't actually read any of the books under discussion, or even know what they're about, and this ignorance actually makes me more informed, and my opinion more important, than that of people who have read the books." PeeKnuckle
I found it highly interesting that comic books weren't brought up by the author, or the people in the comments.
Avahra
Comics are in the newspaper, an adult thing. They are both safe and sacred.
