psubrophy
So I read the other day on my pulse app for android about IBM's new super computer. Apparently it's capable of 10 quadrillion calculations per second.. crazy big number. To bring that to perspective, the article said "If every single person in the united states made 1 calculations every second, it would take them almost a year to do what this computer can do in one second." absurd. But they said that it's going to be used to predict climate change, and calculate the expansion of the universe. haha idk i just thought i'd relay some information. Dateranoth
Most of the time the sole purpose of the super computers is to do advanced scientific calculations. So much so that they usually have a queue of scientists waiting for process time.
