Gears of War 3, the last game in a trilogy that has been the definition of a successful console IP, has been out for only a few days, and it has dominated the game sales charts for September in both North America and Europe. According to Gamasutra.com, the game tops the multiplatform North America and Europe charts, while not fairing as well in Japan since it's placed third behind Dark Souls and ICO/Wanda to Kyozou Limited Box. However, when only Xbox 360 game sales are taken into account, it comes as no surprise to see Gears of War 3 top all of the sales charts, even Japan's.

Gamers weren't the only people taking interest in Gears of War these past few days; the famous TV persona Conan O'Brien made a little sketch about the game, detailing the more emotional side of Gears of War 3, which may have turned some hardcore fans away from the series as a result. Check it out below:

Last but not least, it seems as though Epic Games took the liberty to include a lot of Easter Eggs, like rotating spits over a fireplace or a hidden reference to the 'two-piece', a common tactic used in Gears of War 2's multiplayer. These Easter Eggs are hidden all over the place, both in multiplayer maps like Gridlock, and single-player campaign levels. IGN has an entire article dedicated to finding more Easter Eggs from Gears of War 3, and anyone who's interested can check the page out here, which has detailed descriptions on how to find them; some have videos as well
