Steam Outage Is Not a Security Breach

Valve wants you to know that there is no need for alarm due to the recent downtime of Steam. There was simply a power outage and not a repeat of past security breaches in 2004 and 2008 where vital information was stolen from Steam account holders.

"Our datacentre's uninterruptible power supplies experienced a power failure. The power is back on now, and we're working to get service restored as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.", stated Steam in a message to their users.

Steam is back up and running, however still experiencing some issues that the team at Valve are working on.
