Fanboys get ready to give your favorite console a hug, because GameStop released their annual report regarding who is coming out on top in console sales in the United States and Europe since December 2010.
In the US, Nintendo takes the top two spots with the DS selling 47.3 million and the Wii selling 34.2 million units. The number three spot goes to the Xbox 360 which moved 25.4 million consoles. Rounding out fourth and fifth place is the PSP selling 19 million and the PS3 selling 15.4 million units.
On the Europe side of things, Nintendo came out on top again with 46 million DS's and 24.9 million Wii's being sold. PSP takes third place 14.8 million sales, the PS3 sold 14.7 million consoles, and coming in at the fifth spot is the Xbox 360 who sold 13.7 million consoles.
Nintendo must be pretty happy today with those reported numbers from the video game retailing giant, GameStop.
