Kevnvek Posted July 25, 2013 Share Posted July 25, 2013 PK and I just got done playing GTA IV free roam on the PC version, reliving some memories and doing some stunt jumps and such from the good old days. Does anyone else have the PC version (specifically The Ballad of Gay Tony, freeroam is so much better in it with parachutes, better vehicles, and better weapons) and maybe want to play some nights? It would be fun to get back together a group of us like we used to. The game can be fairly intensive on the PC, but if you have to set the settings fairly low it isn't that bad and still looks better than the consoles. If you have Episodes from Liberty City, you can play it since it's a stand alone, or if you have purchased the DLC for your vanilla GTA IV. Kevnvek Posted July 26, 2013 Author Share Posted July 26, 2013 Basically, get either Complete Edition (regularly $30; the original game and both DLC campaigns) or Episodes From Liberty City (regulartly $20; The two DLC campaigns only) if you want to join, so we all have Ballad for superior freeroaming http://store.steampowered.com/app/901583/ (all versions of the game run Games for Windows LIVE, sadly, so that's how you join in multiplayer). It kind of sucked in the old days when Ballad came out with so much better free roam, but we couldn't play it in large groups because so many didn't have it. With the regularity of Steam sales and the fact that it's a digital download, there's almost no excuse if you want to join in on the fun (i.e. we shouldn't have to play vanilla free roam anymore).
