ADM is amazing, also they(more so he, it's kinda like NIN as it's one central person, who for ADM is Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying) are coming out with a new album next year.

Dude, the first time I heard of these guys is when you posted their cover of Trapped Under Ice at the ATC. I thought they did a great job, but I thought it was a one-off, goofy thing.

One of my buddies brought them up at work today and we started talking. Needless to say, here I sit youtubing videos and I think they really kick some ***.

For old time's sake.

Another anthem. AC/DC will always have a special place in my heart TC. I grew up on them.

What I've often pondered is, when a band puts together a song or album that really strikes a chord with folks - a song or album that changes the face of music, do they know, or even have the thought "Oh man, this is going to be huge!"?

I actually kinda prefer the ADM cover of Trapped Under Ice to the original Metallica version....and Ride the Lighting is one of my favorite albums xD

You should definitely listen to both all of Total Brutal and Double Brutal, some great stuff on there, and the Arnie impersonator is spot on.

Anyways, Rock Band 3 turned me on to Echo and the Bunnymen and The Cure.

Anyway, in response to songs becoming anthems/classics, I suppose it can really go either way, knowing that what you just made is truly great, or just kinda by accident(like for example Neil Young didn't think his album Harvest would became so popular), really just kinda...weird.

I suppose this can kinda be put to one hit wonders too, wrote a great song, thought "We wrote a great song!" then just didn't care about doing anything else good for the rest of there album or next album and kinda faded away.

For me, it seems the artists I really like, tend to hate their songs that get remembered most. A good example would be Epic by Faith No More. Mike Patton can't stand that song (either can I), but it's the song that got many fans listening to them.

I think it's the fans that dictate if it becomes an anthem. More than likely, there's been bands that set out to create one, and it fell flat on its butt.

I used to ask myself if bands write songs they know will be used in commercials later on. lol

Dinosaur Jr, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Mike D (Beastie Boys) and Mike Watt (The Stooges) performing the only live performance of this song from the soundtrack to Judgment Night (buy that album).

Kind of a slap to the face to make them censor the only live performance of this song. I'm glad Del laughs after one of them, to note how silly it all is.
