I took into consideration feedback from how past giveaways have been run and I think I came up with something this year that will please everyone. Participants In order to participate you have to be a member of the forums here at Gamercide, not just a contributor or viewer of our online streaming. Register You must send me a PM here or an email to siren@gamercide.org with your Gamercide name and what systems you own; consoles, handhelds, and if your PC is capable of handling small or large games. All participants must have their names into me by December 21st. Any names received after that will not count. From December 31st until January 2nd there will be a preview post of the prizes, except for the Grand Prize and the Gamercide Staff Bundle. If there are any prizes that you already have, you can send me a PM or an email to let me know that you already have that prize and I will not include for that prize. You can win multiple times this year. Past years, when your name was pulled for a prize in a category such as Xbox 360 prizes, you were done in that category. Not this year! Each participant will have their name put in the Grand Prize and Gamercide Staff Bundle drawing. Again, you will not know what these prizes are until the evening of the Giveaway! Past years we have given away items such as a Netbook and a gaming PC! Bitching, moaning (except for pleasurable moaning at the sight of the awesome prizes) will not be tolerated. This year you are given the chance to preview and opt out of prizes that you already own. If you fail to send me a message with what prizes you are opting out of this year due to already owning them during the preview days, then it is your own damn fault and you are stuck with it. When you win a prize it is up to you, to get in contact with the person who donated the prize and exchange information. If there are any problems, feel free to PM me or send me an email. Donators If you are donating this year, please send me a PM or email siren@gamercide.org with what your donation or donations are by December 30th. Prizes There will be two "hats" this year. The last two prizes that will be given away this year are the Gamercide Staff Bundle and the Grand Prize. Make sure to pay attention to the forums or follow me on Twitter @SirenAssassin for updates regarding the Annual Gamercide Giveaway! Good luck to everyone this year Click here to view the article

  3. What’s the story behind your gamertag? When I started my Gamertag on XBL there was one name I wanted. Patton. Since the first time I logged onto the internet, my moniker was Patton, after Mike Patton. However, that wasn’t available. While I was thinking of an alternative, I started to think of my grandmother. Whenever we’d go visit my grandparents, they’d always start up a game of Pinochle with my mother and uncle. That name always stuck with me. It sounded so strange and the spelling was weird. Anyways, the correct spelling wasn’t available and I made the mistake of spelling it the way I did. Obviously, I have terrible aim and get urine on my hands whenever I use the bathroom. At least, that’s what the young people on the internet tell me when they see my name. What game are you currently playing? I was playing Borderlands 2 like a mad man. However, Gearbox decided they were going to dictate how their fans should play their games. They lost sight of what’s fun, and steered the franchise into a seemingly MMO direction. Balancing their non-competitive game, and directing them on the ‘correct’ ways to farm. I still have some love for them, but I think it’s out of the slim chance that they’ll realize their mistakes and rectify them. Wake up GB! It’s not too late. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? Grand Theft Auto Cinco! Ohmahgerduguise! It’s been entirely too long since there was an open world, free roam style game. It’s exactly what this community needs. People get older and naturally drift apart, but there is a big handful of us that have been close friends for near seven years. It tears me up that we got this far, and now we decide to let life interfere. It’s hard as hell finding good friends that you not only trust, but look forward to seeing on an almost daily basis. That’s my GC family. I love you guys and girls. Sock life in the grill and come back to PK! If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. Philanthropist. Having an impact on people’s lives in such a positive way has to feel good. I like feeling good and I like to see people smiling and laughing. It also assumes I’m already super wealthy, so all the work is already out of the way. Work sucks the life from you if you’re not enjoying something along the way. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? People who can’t STFU, and feel the need to constantly talk. I don’t know if it’s a condition of mine or what, but when someone drones on and on, it all bleeds into one sound and it aggravates the hell out of me. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? Reading a book, surfing the internet, cycling, dead weights, spending time with my pup, Jasmine or talking to my friends who use Gamercide’s mumble server. Imagine that you live on a farm raising turkeys. A local bigwig chooses one of your turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner. You go to collect the turkey and turkey takes off running. You back him into a corner and he pulls a knife on you and says, “You touch my giblets, I will cut you”. What do you do? I immediately become his agent. A talking turkey? Holy shit! I’d be rich. Imagine all the endorsement deals. You’d see Angry Turkey all over. He’d have commercials, his own TV show and at least 2 movie deals. I’d probably kick his ass, too, for pulling a knife on me, because screw that turkey. You are writing a novel about a love story gone wrong. Billy caught his wife Suzy in bed with his brother. Billy is now planning on cutting off his brother’s peepee and stuffing it down his wife’s throat while she sleeps as revenge You want to get publishers to take interest in it, so you have to write up a description of the novel in 10 words. What do you write? (Wow, Siren! lol) Family love triangle to rival Fatal Attraction. Shit is cray! In 5 words or less, describe your gamer self I will troll you. <3 Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

Needless to say after a few time you just say the hell with it. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? i play semi-pro football. right now im getting ready to play in FL jan19 for a national title You just got done watching the Marble Hornets series on Youtube about the Slender Man. You are feeling a little paranoid and peek out your window. Upon peeking through the curtains that cover your window, you see him; The Slender Man standing there in his freakishly tall glory just staring your way. What do you do? the tough choice would be what rifle to nail him with…where i live the men are men and the sheep run scared You are walking home one night after your car broke down. You take a short cut through a cemetary. You are about half way through the cemetary when you hear a thump behind you. You turn around and see Edward from Twilight staring at you. He says, “I’m going to Sparkles on you”. What do you do? i have no idea what that means…lol…but at 325 god did not bless me with speed so i guess im takin one for the team In 5 words or less, describe your gamer self really miss fewer buttons Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article
  5. What’s the story behind your gamertag When I first signed up for XBox Live and created my account I had chosen the Panda avatar. It looked innocent and all but I imagined it was sinisterly disguised. This led to the signature I’ve always used for the past 8 years or so on the XBox Live forums, “My gamerpic is NOT a Panda. It is a thermonuclear device DISGUISED as a plush toy!”. Seeing as I had a recent change in my gamertag after all this time I decided to roll with what I’ve always been, a ThermoNuclear Panda. What game are you currently playing? Currently I’m playing quite a few games including the recently released Borderlands 2, Madden 13 and Darksiders 2. When I’m on the PC I’ve been playing Mechwarrior Online and as well as the excellent World of Tanks. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? A new Mega Man. Screw you Capcom. I’m also looking forward to the new Castlevania games (including the new 3DS one). I’d also like to see a new Metroid on the Wii U eventually. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. I’d like to have money to be a philanthropist. It’d be cool to be independantly wealthy, not have to work and just spend all my monies on upgrading and building new stuff. Not only that but I’d probably be remembered a lot longer after I finally kick the bucket. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? Intentional friendly fire. God I hate that. Team killing, griefing, blocking me in a corner. Any of that stupid crap. To this day I still get into arguements on Live with this guy I’ve been gaming with for what seems like forever. We used to play Chromehounds and he would almost ALWAYS shoot out my legs or my tank treads in the beginning of the match to cripple me for no reason. Was funny at first but it gets old real fast. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? When I’m not gaming lately I’m usually working long hours in the insurance business. In my free time I enjoy reading, painting, playing guitar, golfing whenever I can and spending time outside. You are walking around town and you discover a panda bear sitting in a dark alley wearing sunglasses and sipping a nuka cola. After rubbing your eyes to make sure you aren’t seeing things, the panda bear motions for you to come over. What do you do? You do what the panda tells you to do. No questions. You do not want to piss off a panda bear, especially one wearing sunglasses. If you could choose between winning a lifetime of free video games or winning the car of your dreams, which would you choose and why? Depends on how long I have to live. If I know I’m going to die shortly I’m totally taking the car and doing some reckless stuff haha. Otherwise it’s games all the way! In 5 words or less, describe your gamer self Panda power shouldn’t be underestimated. Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article
  6. What’s the story behind your gamertag? I originally tried to get “Loch Ness Monster” because I needed about tree-fiddy but it was already taken. True story. After trying several other inappropriate words I just randomly picked the word stalker and it was unavailable so I added an “e” in the front. I have been surprised at how put off by my gamertag people are. I’ve met lots of other girls at conventions and when I give them my gamertag I’m always having to tell them that I’m not really creepy….. trust me, I’m not actually eStalking you THAT YOU KNOW OF What game are you currently playing? I’m perpetually playing WoW. I just finished playing Silent Hill Homecoming and just started re-playing Final Fantasy IX, which is one of my all time favorites. I’ve been feeling nostalgic so I have plans to replay FFX-2 and Kingdom Hearts soon. Silent Hill HD is in my “soon” queue, too. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? I’ve preordered Sims 3 Super Natural and WoW Mists of Panderia. I’m looking forward to the re-release of FF14. FF13-2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Sims 3 Seasons and Borderlands 2 should all be out soon. Is there a new Cooking Mama coming out? I’ll play the crap out of that. I just freaking love games. Answers subject to change after PAX 2012. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why? A unicorn because I heard you get to fart rainbows and poop perfectly cooked bacon. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? When my mom comes in and yells when I’m playing Halo and everyone hears. It’s super embarrassing. Seriously though, I hate playing with angry people who yell nonstop about how badly you (I) play. I hear it all the time because I suck at games. Was it really my fault that we wiped the raid for the 5thtime? Probably. Will my Halo driving skills be magically better if you yell about how bad I am at it? Probably not. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? I guess I’m knitting, though I have plans to quit knitting for a while and take up something new. Maybe quilting because the world is woefully lacking gaming themed quilts. Here is a gallery of some of my sweet knitting creations. I am a scarf knitting fool. http://www.flickr.co…s/79289157@N04/ What dead politician, celebrity, author, etc…..would you like to have a dinner with and what would you discuss? I actually put a lot of thought into this and in the end I realized that I’d love to have the opportunity to watch more than discuss. I’d love to see a real Shakespearean play staged in his life time. I’d need the T.A.R.D.I.S. though or I’d never understand a damn thing. I’d also love to see the court of Queen Elizabeth the First. If you were being stalked, Michael Myers Halloween style…. What would you do? The only way to beat a stalker is to out stalk them. I’ve played enough Tenchu Z to know that the right way to handle an enemy is to hide on a roof top until he passes then jump down all stealth like and slit his throat from behind. In 5 words or less, describe your gamer self I get around Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article
  7. 1. What’s the story behind your gamertag? My first car I got in high school was a blue 1995 Buick Skylark. No I do not have the car anymore. Sold it when the head gasket started leaking. I have been asked interesting things about where I got the name from, but very few have ever thought of the car. One of the most bizarre answers that someone gave for my gamertag would have to be if it was from Chip Skylark on the Fairly Oddparents.2. What game are you currently playing? Was playing Skyrim... Currently playing Skyrim... Will be playing Skyrim... So good and very addicting. Will probably only get better after I play some mods for it and eventually get Dawnguard. 3. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? Ask PK the same question and I'll probably agree with his answer. 4. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. I like me as is, although it would be pretty sweet to fly. Sure make traveling easier and you wouldn't have to deal with crazy drivers. 5. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? Loud music over voice chat... I'm sure the song's great but it doesn't do justice over chat as about all music sounds like crap over a headset. 6. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? Either at work programming or in front of my computer programming. My top android app is Amazon Free App Notifier and my top Desktop program was Imgur Album Downloader with both receiving 1000s of downloads. I'm currently working on an open source program Reddit Image Downloader and it should turn out to be the best program I've written yet. I find writing desktop applications and Android apps a lot of fun so if you ever have a cool idea swing it by me and I might be able to make it happen. 7. If you were to take over the world, what would be the first thing that you would do? Free tacos for everyone? Force EA to never release day one DLC? Give everyone a kick-*** gaming computer? Make Gabe give us Half Life 3? Promote world peace? If I took over the would why couldn't I do it all at the same time? 8. If someone ran up to you and yelled, "The sky is falling!" and you look up and it is, what would you do? First I would probably be the crazy one who would stay outside for a little bit and take pictures (If tornado sirens go off, I'm one of the first people to run outside. ) Then I would attempt to find shelter and prepare for Fallout, Midwest Style (Sure, it's not nuclear, but who knows what would really happen ). 9. 8. 1. What’s the story behind your gamertag? It’s nothing heroic. Avahra has been my online identity since I was 12 ish. I used to do a lot of free form Roleplaying (not sexual, mind) and Avahra was my main character. She was awesome, and in her made up elven language her name meant “refusal.” I like it so I take it with me. It’s the name I use for pretty much everything online. 2. What game are you currently playing? (PC, PS3, 360….it doesn’t matter) Gah. I’m always playing WoW. I have also been playing some DIablo3. However, D3 has the tendency to piss me off and I find that I don’t enjoy it as much as I should so I quit. I’ve slowly started playing xbox again..kinda sorta. Zuma, Quarrel and other arcade titles. 3. What game are you looking forward to that has yet to release? I got a wee bit excited over the Halo 4 announcement. Mists of Pandaria for WoW and i’m sure there are others that I am blissfully unaware of. 4. If you could be anything in the world what would it be and why. Realistically? A published Author. In the land of pretend I’d be a shape shifter so I could spy and **** on peoples heads as a bird. 5. What is your biggest gaming pet peeve when playing with others? There’s a couple,. The biggest one would have to be when my gender gets involved. Tits or gtfo? How about you show my your **** first. I also dislike playing with people who don’t speak English. (Shallow, I know but it’s miserable not understanding others) 6. When you aren’t gaming, what are you doing? I’m likely saving lives, or harassing the general pubic. Sometimes I’ll be writing or reading..or naps. I love naps. 7. If you were to take over the world, what would be the first thing that you would do? Build an awesome throne. 8. What would you do for a Klondike bar? I’ve never had a klondike bar.. 9. In 5 words or less, describe your gamer self. Rawr. Member Spotlights are back from days of the old. 9. Developed by: Robot Entertainment Published by: Robot Entertainment Platforms: PC Players: 1-2 The orcs are back, and in greater numbers. But no worries, this time you can bring a friend along for the slaughter. Orcs Must Die! 2 offers a wide array of improvements over the original game, while retaining all of the great gameplay that made the first a hit. All of what makes Orcs Must Die! fun to play is there, and improved. All of the traps, the strategy, the weapons. The gameplay is largely the same, but new weapons and traps abound, as well as a new upgrade system. Several new traps range from bug zapper-like shock turrets to bear traps, and an awesome new guardian, dwarves that throw explosives and can melee enemies that get too close. Dwarven mud wrestlers. Always effective. There are so many new weapons and traps that I barely had a chance to try them all by the time I finished all of the main story levels. I did find myself sticking to old favorites, but only because they worked so well. Namely the crossbow, excellent for picking orcs off from a distance and now with an added secondary stun attack that can stop enemies, including large ones, dead in their tracks; and the wind belt, which gives you a spell to push enemies, perfect for throwing them to their demise over a pit or back into your deadly traps, or buying yourself some time. It never gets old. All items (including the newly added trinkets, which give you a constant passive bonus when in the inventory, and an active spell when used) can now be upgraded with damage bonuses, perks, and more. For instance, the crossbow can gain a perk to generate extra mana with each headshot, allowing for more frequent use of spells like the push mentioned above. A perfect place for the wind spell. You can keep the orcs in the kill zone you’ve created. The name of the game now is replayability. You gain skulls as upgrade points for completing levels and occasionally mid-level for accomplishing feats such as kill combos. New modes like Endless, a 40 wave endurance challenge, give you more opportunity to collect skulls in addition to replaying levels on Nightmare difficulty. These skulls are then used to buy all of your upgrades. The game truly encourages you to develop your own play style, because there are a lot of tools and upgrades to choose from. Thankfully a respec option has been added, a feature that lets you refund all of the skulls that you’ve spent. This option was grudgingly absent from the first game, so it could get annoying when you bought a trap that didn’t fit your play style. Unfortunately you can’t individually remove upgrades so you just have to remember where you’ve put all your points if you want to refund some. You can place up to 25 guardians at once. Glorious. One thing I did find annoying is that in order to play the new character The Sorceress, you have to make a separate profile with completely separate unlocks. This means that none of your upgrades or unlocks carry over and it’s like starting the game over. With how many unlocks there are this can be annoying. The draw of playing as the new character is that she has a few unique weapons such as the polymorph ring, a ring that can turn enemies into other things like harmless chickens, or turn the sorceress into a powerful ogre. Some weapons are unique to the Sorceress, while the War Mage has a few of his own as well. Of course having the second character means another great addition to the game: co-op. You can now have a friend join you for the slaughter. From the campaign menu you can invite a friend to join you. Once in game you each get 6 trap slots and each have your own money. Currency from kills seem to be shared to an extent, where you also get a few points from kills by your partner and their traps. The game certainly seems geared towards co-op, as playing a later level I was able to 5 star it, whereas I had difficulty completing it solo. With most of the later levels having the orcs come at you from at least two directions, having someone to focus on either side of the Rift makes things much easier. The graphics are still just as fine as the original with a mildly cartoony style, and rock/adventure style music that sets the tone before the taunting victory theme that makes its return. There are actually fewer levels, 15 versus the first game’s 24, but with the added Endless mode, and the inclusion of Classic mode (10 levels from the first game for those who own it), and all of the permutations that can be made to your loadout, there is tons of replayability. Orcs Must Die! 2 is a nice improvement over the first game and definitely worth checking out for fans of the tower defense or third person action genre, or anyone looking to have some plain old fun slaying orcs. 10. Developed by: Bioware Published by: EA Games Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Players: 1, with 4 player cooperative multiplayer Four and a half years since the launch of the revolutionary original Mass Effect, which introduced a new style of RPG, the final installment of the trilogy has released. More than four years of hype are riding on it. And with as epic a follow up as Mass Effect 2, the stakes are even higher. The Reapers have finally arrived, and have begun to lay siege to civilization around the entire galaxy. Even after all the warnings Commander Shepard had given, no was prepared, nor could they truly be even if they tried. The stage is set as the Reapers begin their assault on Earth and Shepard is forced to retreat aboard the Normandy. The only hope for Earth now is for Shepard to rally together as many of the other galactic races to stand together against the Reapers as he can for one last stand. The core game has some awesome moments, good dialog, a stellar soundtrack, and great setpieces. The combat and gameplay mostly just expands upon the system from Mass Effect 2, which is hardly a bad thing, as its improvements over the first game were massive. The Reapers are enormous and really set the tone of helplessness as they ravage cities in the background. But then there’s everything else. For all its flaws, Mass Effect 3 has some very nice graphics and scenery, on a grand scale. As much as it pains me to say it, Mass Effect 3 felt like a huge step back from the second title. Where Mass Effect 2 portrayed a dark, epic story to follow the mystery of the original, Mass Effect 3 just felt like it didn’t accomplish as much. Outside of the main missions everything just felt awkward. Several incredibly awkard moments, particularly in a few of the romance scenes (namely the whole thing with EDI I won’t spoil), completely unnecessary sidequests, an equally unnecessary feeling metagame in the galaxy map, and the worst quest log I have ever seen in a game, all start to bring down what otherwise is a fairly great game. The quest log consists of a single vague paragraph for each quest that never updates until the quest fades out after completion. The quests are mostly flying to a system and using the “upgraded” scanner that conveniently attracts Reapers you must fly around to avoid (and never really feel threatened by because you can keep reentering the star system to reset them), or talking to a few people around the Citadel. Often when I finally would figure out what to do in a quest it would just outright break and become unfinishable. Just keep leaving the system and returning and you can get all of the hidden items by doing fly-by scan/grabs, regardless of the Reaper presence. A multiplayer mode has been added to the game, which admittedly is good fun when you’ve unlocked a good class to play with. It is the first time you get to play as any of the other races in the series, after all. It only features one mode, defending against waves with one to four players, but it serves its purpose. You can level up your character similar to the single player leveling system, but in order to get new weapons and gear you have to spend credits you earn and simply hope you are lucky, as the items you get from the packs are random. You can buy them for real money via Bioware points (a dollar for a medium chance at good items, two for better chances), but that option just seems shady. Multiplayer isn’t free from the design flaws either. A system known as Galactic Readiness modifies the amount of War Assets you have in game (points gathered by recruiting fleets that amount to how good of a defense force you have against the Reapers in the endgame.) By default it is at 50% and will never drop below that, but through multiplayer you can raise it up to 100%, so for example your 800 War Assets can become 1600. The problem here is that you are essentially forced to play multiplayer in a traditionally single player RPG where multiplayer by all accounts never really needed to be included. Many long time fans of the series may not want to bother with such a strange notion as a cooperative horde mode tacked onto their RPG, but in ignoring it will have a harder time of getting a better endgame result. Being able to smash everything to death as a Krogan is a fun diversion from playing as Shepard. Which brings me to my final gripe about the game: the ending. Without going into specifics, I was highly disappointed. In the last moments of Mass Effect 3, it felt like all the decisions I had made in the previous games had meant nothing. Not to say that there aren’t (very slightly) different endings, but there isn’t even an epilogue. A simple Fallout style narrated slideshow would have done wonders, explaining a little bit about the state of the galaxy in various regions you’ve affected. Instead, in the famous words of Willy Wonka, you get nothing. As per the description of many bad game endings, you make a choice, some weird stuff happens, then it just ends. With all of the good buildup and drama from the previous games, it was a major disappointment. In space, no one can hear you scream. But they can hear all those swooshy sounds that spaceships somehow make. It’s such a pity that there were so many irksome things bringing this game down. I loved the first two, and really wanted to enjoy this one just as much. It may be a better game if you could ignore the sidequests entirely, but then you wouldn’t get very many War Assets. You could ignore the tacked on multiplayer (which, to be fair, has its moments where it is pretty fun, despite its unnecessary nature), but then you’d have even less. And even after all that, it’s hard not to be disappointed with the end result of the game either way. As it stands, Mass Effect 3 felt like it could have benefited greatly from a longer development time. Fix the questlog, spruce up the sidequests with something interesting like Mass Effect 2′s, where every major sidequest had its own unique location, and put the effort into making a truly epic epilogue that the fans deserve after investing so many hours into the series as a whole. That the game is receiving perfect review scores from so many major sites is appalling. The underlying game is good, but dragged down by so many things that it just becomes mediocre despite the all of the potential to become truly great. 11. Developed By: Double Fine Published By: THQ Platforms: XBLA, PSN Players: Single Release Date: October 19, 2010 and October 20, 2010 Price: $15.00 on PSN and 1200 MS Points Version Reviewed: XBLA It’s every candly loving fiend’s favorite undead holiday, Halloween. As two siblings argue over who is going to lead their night of Trick or Treating, they have no clue what is in store for them, but the monsters that have taken over their once quiet neighborhood are determined to make sure that they find out. Double Fine and THQ take a stab at adventure/role playing with their latest arcade friendly title, Costume Quest. In Costume Quest you will find yourself in the middle of a classic sibling rivalry. It is up to you whether sister Wren or her brother Reynold will take the lead for the night’s festivities of Trick or Treating. After deciding between the fighting siblings, the kids put their respective costumes on with you being a blue robot that can eventually skate with later upgrades and your sibling A.I. dresses up as a giant piece of a Halloween candy staple, candy corn. Wren and Reynold both learn that something more sinister is at work in their neighborhood after stopping at a seemingly quiet jack-o-latern decorated house. Unfortunately for your brother or sister, depending on your choice you made at the beginning of the game, this house is anything but quiet. Mistaken for a giant piece of candy corn, the monsters that have invaded your neighborhood kidnap your sibling and it is up to you to get him or her back and stop the monsters from taking over your neighborhood as they search for candy. Reynold or Wren start off in Costume Quest as a robot. When a battle is triggered after running into a monster, your character is transformed into a real version of their costume that has it’s own special attack, along with standard attacks. The battles are turn based like many RPG’s. This allows you enough time to choose what action you wantyour character to do. After choosing an action, you are faced with a quick time event where you have to tap the right button at the right time in order to block or deliver more damage to your enemy. During battles, you can control up to four characters that each have their own special attacks depending on their costume. After the battles you are given XP and candy for your trick or treat bag. Throughout the beginning of Costume Quest, you will find yourself walking around town finding quests, candy, and costume materials that allow you to upgrade your costume. You gain quests by interacting with the other kids and sometimes bullies in your neighborhood. You can view not only your quests, but your candy, costume patterns, battle stamps, and character’s status by accessing your journal that can easily be found by tapping the Y button. As you advance in Costume Quest other areas are unlocked as your search for your kidnapped sibling and of course candy. Overall, Costume Quest is a delightful blend of light hearted and sarcastic humor and unique features such as comic bubbles instead of talking that make this ghoulish entry from Double Fine and THQ a rare treat in the the growing number of lacking and sometimes overpriced Xbox Live Arcade titles. Siren Says: “Costume Quest is a joy to play. I had no problems navigating throughout the game and the menu interface is so easy to use that my four year old could navigate through it. At times I found myself laughing at some of the remarks made by the characters. I throughly enjoyed Costume Quest and I believe that if you like turn based RPG’s, Halloween, and can appreciate all types of humor, then this might be the arcade game for you.” View the full article
